Seventies DJ Mike read had the pretty daft idea of running for London's Mayor as a Tory. Then, when Bozza 'Toff' Johnson was announced as a runner, Mike uh, co-incidentally pulled out. Worse, he decided to write an article for the Guardian, which in prime Alan Patridge stylee gave his ideas for running London [put all car parking underground, etc] and which
[a] illustrated the fact that perhaps he hadn't, um, thought these ideas through
[b] gave his reasons for supporting Boris - basically, because he been talking to Boris's dad.
